Drivers and devices.

We write drivers and software that connect devices and tools to a computer, an app or your systems. Including hardware built in-house.

The problem

When it makes sense

The device has USB or a network port, but the vendor software does not fit your work, or there is none. Readings and settings get copied by hand, and the hardware cannot talk to the rest of your systems.

What's included

  • A review of the device protocol and the vendor documentation
  • A driver or library that talks to the device over USB or the network
  • A command-line tool or desktop app to operate the device
  • Logging measurements and exporting data
  • Connecting the device to your systems through an API

What you get

  • A working driver or tool
  • Source code that stays with you
  • Documentation of the commands and the protocol
How we run it

From the first call to launch.

Five steps from the first call to launch. At every stage you know what is being built and why.

  1. 01 · 1x

    Call with an engineer

You tell us what needs to work. We ask about users, data and deadlines.

  2. 02 · 1x

    Scoping workshop

We write down features, constraints and the order of work.

  3. 03 · 1x

    Prototype

A clickable version you can test before production code is written.

  4. 04 · 1x

    MVP

The first working version, on real data.

  5. 05 · 1x

    Launch

We ship the product and hand over the code and documentation.

FAQ

Questions and answers

Which devices do you work with?

Devices that talk over USB or the network. An example from our workshop: controlling a Siglent oscilloscope from macOS over USBTMC and SCPI, without the vendor software.

Can you write a driver for hardware we built ourselves?

Yes. We start from the protocol description or from a conversation with the person who designed the device.

How much does it cost?

We prepare a quote after a call with an engineer. The cost depends on the device, the protocol and what the program has to do.

Got an idea?

A few words about the idea are enough. We'll agree on the timeline and details together, on a call with an engineer.
