A social food map: locals recommend places and dishes, earn points in a ranking and build lists for going out together.
SmakMapa- Context
- A food map built by the local community. Lublin is the first city.
Problem
Ratings on maps and aggregators say whether a place is good, not what to order there. Recommendations from people in town get lost in Facebook groups.
What we built
- A web app plus mobile apps for iOS and Android.
- Dish recommendation posts, reviews after a visit, following authors and lists of places.
- A taste ranking with points for activity and levels, from Newcomer to Master of Taste.
- A language-model pipeline that builds a new city's venue dataset from scratch.
Result
The MVP is live at smakmapa.pl, piloting in Lublin.
